Today Dawn Dewhirst ran the 2013 Tinker Bell 1/2 Marathon for charity. The race is at Disneyland in California and the runners raced through the Disneyland Resort. Good job Dawn, we are proud of you!

Needed a place to put my footsies when using my reading chair. Could not find a footstool that I liked so I re-purposed the one from our bedroom that we were not using. Painted it black and covered it with some linen fabric that I bought in Rouen, France thinking I would find a footstool that I liked. Turns out the fabric is not French at all but a nice English linen but I think it will be perfect for the job.

Putting the baskets together decided I needed one more item and it's too late to make anything. Then I remembered these cute little boxes that I bought in Vernon, France. I thought they were cute and did not know at the time what I would do with them but after printing out everyone's initials and filling them with soft peppermint balls I think they will work fine!

All the dining rooms were named after famous operas and at the entrance each dining room showcased costumes from the opera - we ate in the Magic Flute each night and had breakfast several times in this room - Carmen.

What a great idea - easy to keep track of the day - just step into an elevator and look down - these inserts were changed daily - very cleaver!

This thousand year old church was our favorite of all the churches that we saw. It is still so beautiful and mass is said daily. When we were there we were the only people in the church so we could sit quietly and pray. It was wonderful.

Today I received a French kiss on the steps of Le Bon Marche. As I was coming out of the store a lovely Parisian lady was approaching with her adorable West Highland Terrier and I quietly said bonjour bébé and the little dog jumped on my leg and when I bent down I got a big kiss! Drew, Dawn and the kids are on a Frontier flight to Omaha where they will rent a car and travel to Rock Port for a holiday weekend with Rich, Lindy and the boys. Heath, Mitch and Isabelle were picked to go into the cockpit but Isabelle did not want to be a pilot today!

Sadly today was the day to say vaya con dios to the Pearse family, our dear Aussie friends -
Elizabeth, Tony, Garion, Bryce, Hamish, Lochlan and dear, sweet baby sister, Briony-Anne. When we first met six months seemed like a long time but it has passed in the blink of an eye. We will be forever grateful for having these wonderful people enter our lives. They boarded a plane for Los Angeles with 14 checked bags, and 14 carry on bags, it was a lot of luggage. They traveled light on their way here and are going home with the maximum allowed luggage. They have seen more of the United States than most Americans. They have met wonderful people who have been very kind to them and there is a reason for that - they are such a loving, generous, family who bring out the best in everyone they meet. I will miss seeing them and fixing dinner for them. God willing we will meet again.

Another fun-filled trip to WDW and then to Vero Beach. The Wyoming Dewhirst's, Linda A. for a day, Aunt Sherry, Dick and I, had a fun, if not a warm and humid, trip to the east coast Magic Kingdom. Wonder of all wonders, our sweet Isabelle LOVED her time at the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique and she sat still the entire time, picked out her own hair, make-up, clothing, etc. We were all expecting that our little fire cracker would quickly be bored and not want to finish - not so says our Missie Belle! She sat the entire time, was fully engaged and we were amazed at her patience and interest at the ripe old age of 3! We think that she says "I am a REAL girl and loved every moment of the BBB!"

Easter in Missouri with Rich, Lindy, Ryan & Alex. A quick trip but we had a wonderful time and were sad to leave. Alex will have his first communion this weekend at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hamburg, Iowa. We won't be there but will be there in spirit and send our love.
